Locals gathered on Saturday for a fundraiser to help the Monterey Park community heal and rebuild following a mass shooting that left 11 people dead on Jan. 21.It’s been a difficult and traumatizing few months following the tragedy that unfolded at the Star Ballroom Dance Studio for both residents and authorities in the tight-knit community.A barbeque fundraiser held by the Monterey Park Fire Department hopes to raise funds to help those most affected by the deadly shooting.“It’s been a long process for our whole membership, especially the people that responded that night, on both the fire department and our law enforcement side,” said Captain Adam Malouf of the Monterey Park Fire Department. “We feel we need to stand with the community and bring everybody together and help heal.”Michael Ta, a Monterey Park resident, is still shaken from that night.“You see all these things happen on TV and you don’t think it’s going to happen here where you live and this really hit home,” said Ta. ...Hard Rock Lake Tahoe shooting leaves 1 person dead

A 32-year-old man has died following a shooting at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe, located in Stateline, Nevada, on Saturday, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.Deputies were dispatched to the hotel at 8:08 a.m. local time following reports of an active shooter and the first deputy arrived three minutes later, according to the sheriff’s office.A mutual aid request was automatically made at the same time to South Lake Tahoe Police Department and the El Dorado County, California, Sheriff’s Office, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said.Police said they found one male victim inside the building with a gunshot wound to his head at the Center bar.The victim, identified as Omar Reyes Garcia, was taken to an area hospital where he later died, police said.Authorities arrested two people in connection to the shooting after getting a description of the suspect and his vehicle.Edgar Julian Delgado, 24, was arrested for open murder by the El Dorado County Sheriff’s ...Many ski resorts near Bay Area are extending ski seasons thanks to feet of fresh snow

Several ski resorts near the Bay Area have announced extensions to their ski seasons after the Sierra Nevada mountains received feet upon feet of snow over the past few months. Now, Dodge Ridge is offering the longest season it ever has before. Heavenly Mountain Resort is extending its ski season until May 7. CONCORD, Calif. (KRON) -- At least one person was injured in a collision that also knocked down a traffic pole at an intersection in Concord Saturday afternoon, according to the Concord Police Department.
